The statute of frauds does not prevent specific enforcement of a
contract to transfer church property, the time of performance of an
act required for the sale of property subject to the statute of
frauds may be implied pursuant to Civil Code section 1657, and
assumption of a mortgage obligation is adequate consideration.

of Japanese companies for whom they were forced to do slave labor
during World War II is dismissed where the US Constitution directly
binds state court judges where treaties are concerned and the 1951
